Maverick Energy Ventures builds high-trust partnerships between leading U.S. technology providers and Iraq’s energy sector. We identify high-impact opportunities, bring advanced American technologies and services to Iraq, and support operators in delivering modern, reliable, and efficient energy and infrastructure projects.
Maverick Energy Ventures is built on over 15 years of hands-on U.S. oil and gas experience across major unconventional basins and emerging technologies. The company focuses on connecting proven American technical capabilities with the needs of Iraq’s energy sector, from subsurface engineering and hydraulic fracturing to gas monetization and improved oil recovery.
By combining deep technical expertise, field-tested methods, and a practical understanding of both U.S. and Iraqi operating environments, Maverick helps operators and partners evaluate opportunities, de-risk projects, and deploy technologies that improve recovery, reduce emissions, and enhance long-term value.

Completed detailed subsurface evaluations for more than 1,160 wells across the Permian, Eagle Ford, Powder River, Anadarko, Bakken, and Williston basins, covering spacing analysis, depletion modeling, interference detection, and development optimization.

Invented the DQI method for diagnosing and quantifying well-to-well interference in unconventional reservoirs. The technique is used by Shell, Petronas, Devon, and Expand as a key tool for spacing decisions, depletion evaluation, and infill planning.

Led the design and execution of multi-stage hydraulic fracturing programs across major U.S. unconventional basins — a core technology that enabled the United States to become the world’s top oil producer. Applied advanced diagnostics including downhole pressure gauges, fiber-optic monitoring, and real-time data to optimize fracture geometry and understand depletion behavior.

Built and led a world-class subsurface team responsible for reservoir and fracture modeling, well performance forecasting, and field development planning across North Dakota, Wyoming, Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. Recruited and developed high-caliber reservoir engineers capable of delivering robust simulation models and optimized development strategies.

Developed a gas-to-value initiative focused on monetizing associated gas through seasonal gas injection and operational balancing — directly aligned with Iraq’s national priorities to reduce flaring and expand domestic gas utilization.

Led technical and economic evaluations exceeding 500 million dollars in upstream and low-carbon investments, including stacked-reservoir development, geothermal energy opportunities, and long-term resource planning. Delivered integrated assessments combining reservoir engineering, commercial analysis, and risk evaluation.

Worked across technical, commercial, legal, and regulatory functions to structure NDAs, MoUs, and data-sharing frameworks with IOCs and NOCs. Evaluated international exploration opportunities by analyzing data rooms, quantifying hydrocarbon resources, and developing investment recommendations.

Globally recognized for leadership in subsurface engineering, unconventional development, and energy technology advancement. Selected as CERAWeek Future Energy Leaders (2024) and appointed to the SPE Executive Advisory Committee (2024–2025), with multiple acknowledgments from SPE leadership. Engage actively with IOCs, NOCs, and government bodies to support technology deployment and sustainable development.

Designed and led the technical evaluation for a large-scale carbon sequestration hub in southeastern Wyoming engineered to store 5.1 million metric tons of CO₂ per year through six Class VI injection wells. Work included storage complex design, injectivity assessment, plume and pressure modeling, and regulatory strategy, with integration across industrial CO₂ sources and the Trailblazer pipeline network.

Designed and led the technical evaluation for the Niobrara play’s first three-mile horizontal lateral, enabling successful drilling, stimulation, and strong early-time production performance.
